If you are a nature lover, this route is for you. During this tour  you will be able to discover the different and unique landscapes facets of Europe’s only desert. From badlands to canyons, trough the winding tracks of dried river beds, the “ramblas”. You will be able to observe the flora and fauna, as well as ask questions regarding anything that interests you about this unusual countryside.

You will be surprised to discover that in this apparently inhospital environment that awaits you along the route, human settlements were found going back to recent epochs.  


Of course, you will also be able to recognize landscapes that former the backdrop to some of your favourite movies, such us “Indiana Jones and the last crusade”, “Lawrence of Arabia”, “For a few dollars more” , and many more.

Cinema Landscapes

This route follows the steps and the locations of two iconic movies: “For a few dollars more” and “Indiana Jones and the last crusade”.

This is a route that combines 4x4 and hiking trails. It visits two of the most unusual protected landscapes in the province of Almeria: The Sierra de Alhamilla and the Desert of Tabernas. Following in the steps of “Indy” you will discover this extraordinary countryside, conducting regular stops to give the tour guide the opportunity to help you understand its geological, scenic, ethnological and historical delights.

The route is adapted from the tour “Paisajes de cine” (landscapes of the movies), www.paisajesdecine.com, in collaboration with Plácido Martinez (propietor of Malcamino’s) and the Country Council of Almeria.

  • Brings suncreme and drinking water.
  • Depending on weather, bring rain coat and warm clothing.
